Que the Future

So I recently sat down and had a chit chat with "Que" (Qwanell Que Mosley, formerly of Day26) and we rapped about how he is staying positive during this transitional period of his life and career. If you haven't been keeping up, Que was kicked out of the group and is now pursing a solo career and just dropped his first project The Que Files Mixtape.

It all went down at an exclusive listening party for media and music industry insiders, hosted by Jeannie Jones, Kitty of the City and DJ Quick Silva of 93.9 WKYS (DC's #1 Station for Hip-Hop and R&B). Que is under new management, residing in the DMV, and preparing for a new reality show with girlfriend Dawn Richard (of Dirty Money, formerly of Danity Kane).

Que: "I stay positive and motivated through my faith in God. My favorite scripture is Psalms 23 and I just believe that you if you stay positive and release positive energy that positive things will happen in your life. That is why I am always on twitter sending out positive energy." Follow Que on twitter @que_thafuture and you can download the mixtape for FREE @ http://www.reverbnation.com/qwanellquemosley My favorite track is twitter freak (yes I'm on twitter @cebony #dontjudgeme LOL)

Be GRATEFUL

Ups and Downs.
Highs and Lows.
Peaks and Valleys.
Sunshine and Rain.
He didn't say that things would always be good, but I'm GRATEFUL because there is someone else who would LOVE to be in my shoes.

Faith Fridays: Lindsey C. Holmes

Lindsey C. Holmes, a native Washingtonian, is what I like to call a Renaissance Women (but she is a Delta of course, so why wouldn't she be? LOL). She is the CEO of not one but TWO of her own businesses including LCH Real Estate Brokerage & Investments and LCH Business Media & Tech Solutions. Since its inception in 2005, LCH Real Estate has grown from a basic Real Estate Brokerage to a part of a full service corporation. LCH Industries, provides real estate services with a specialty in Bank-owned and Foreclosure Property through LCH Real Estate, Residential and Commercial Financing through LCH Lending, and Loss Mitigation Services through LCH Loan Workouts. Still in her twenties, Lindsey is one of the area's youngest Real Estate Brokers. But there's more, in her other business, Lindsey utilizes Social Media and Technology Services to 'power' businesses. She is a certified Apple Developer and one of very few African American women creating for the iPhone and Blackberry Platforms. Yesssss Lindsey is the BUSINESS!!!!!!
SavvyC: Reflect on your journey to the present and how FAITH played a part in allowing you to make your dream come true?
LCH: Faith was everything to me... I always knew that I wanted to own my own company. I've always admired the esteem that comes with being a business owner, also the ability to use my creativity and gifts and to not be stifled as you often are by corporations. I did however work in corporate America, but used that experience as merely an opportunity to learn and emulate the techniques that made them a successful corporation. While there, I promised myself that I would not turn down opportunity - even if there was no pay increase, and there never was - so that I could learn as many facets about the infrastructure of 'big business' as possible. They worked me until I couldn't 'see straight' at times, and this caught up with me. At one point I became physically ill from the stress. At this point I new that it was time to live my promise to myself. That I had learned all I needed to from this company, and adopted my mantra 'What's the worst that could happen?'

SavvyC: What made you step out on faith?
LCH: My faith in God. Knowing that He understood the passion I had about so many things, and the fact that I felt so drained in my current situation, I knew that He had better things planned. I knew that if I tried to control the situation myself, I would continue to become sick and overworked. So I began to listen to that 'small voice' and watch for signs. I totally removed myself. I walked out of my office for the 25 minute lunch that I often didn't get, and saw a sign for a Real Estate Broker's class. A real estate firm was my first business. Understanding the power of living your dreams, and also being okay with sacrificing for them, makes immobilizing your faith that much easier.
SavvyC: Where do you see yourself in the future?
LCH: Doing whatever makes me totally happy. I have worked in all types of industries. I have a great work ethic and love making money, but I find that making money is easier and comes freer when you do what you love, are good at what you do, and are happy. I see myself owning a Fortune 500 company that is characterized by helping to 'Pioneer the Social Media Revolution for Business.'

SavvyC:What advice do you have for someone who is on the fence about stepping out on faith?
LCH: Pray. Be still and wait for God's answer, that 'still, small voice' to guide you. If you don't hear it, shut up and listen again. God is always speaking to us, and will tell you exactly what to do. Be practical, weigh your circumstances, but what that voice may actually tell you, is that your circumstances may and most likely will change in an instant, if you just remove 'yourself' out of the equation.
SavvyC: What are your thoughts on making dreams come true?
LCH: You have to feel entitled to your dreams, for them to actually come true. So many of us feel that 'dreams' are intangible things, and this is very ironic to me, since most of our dreams are actually based on others' lives and accomplishments. If God has provided for them, why wouldn't He for you? We must be productive however, combining prayer, faith and the practical steps that it takes to actually realize our dreams. If you have a dream and someone has accomplished something similar, ask them for help. If you don't have such a physical role model, their is an Infinite One, that has accomplished the 'impossible.'

AMAZING Right???
