Nothing compares to raw talent and live sound. In the studio you can put as much "T-Pain" on it as you'd like. You can auto-tune it, chop and screw it, but to get in front of a microphone with a live band behind you and just sing......or better yet sannnnng! Now that's what I call music.

Exclusive Interview: Ne-Yo, Beyond The Music

Yesterday Ne-Yo was here in the DMV and came thru the Russ Parr Morning Show for Russ's Millionaires Breakfast Club. After a lovely breakfast catered by Sugar (a fab black owned restaurant in D.C ) fans packed the studio to hear Ne-Yo discuss the October release of his new album "Libra Scale". Russ and crew wasted no time, jumping right into the juicy questions, asking about his relationship, baby on the way, and R&B beefs. Neyo did confirm that he does in fact have a baby on the way, although he and the mother do not have a title on their relationship. He also talked about the alleged beef between he and R. Kelly and assured us that the beef had been squashed.

After the show went off air I had the opportunity to go behind the music with Ne-Yo and talk with him about his non-profit organization and community outreach. Here's what he had to say:

The Compound Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2007 by Ne-Yo and his manager and Compound Entertainment business partner Tango Hay. The mission is to increase awareness about the status of children in the child welfare system in America and to support and partner with residential care facilities through programs aimed at teaching entrepreneurship and life skills that will empower them to become productive, successful, independent adults.

Kudos to Ne-Yo for giving back to the Youth! I love a celeb who does more than just sing, dance, and be "Hollywood", but goes beyond the music to touch a young life! Gotta love that! Now back to the singing and dancing LOL.....
