DMV's Reesa Renee Wins Amateur Night

DMV Stand Up! Last night, Reesa Renee, an artist, musician songwriter and lyrical poet from the Washington, DC area won first place at New York’s legendary Amateur Night at the Apollo. Reesa Renee performed her soon-to-be-released single, “Got Me Loose.” This marks the second time in three years that an artist wins Amateur Night performing an original song. She will return to Harlem, New York next week to perform for the grand prize of $10,000. The winner will be determined on October 26^th.

“This is such a surreal moment,” said Reesa Renee after her performance. “Everyone hears the, ‘Follow Your Dreams Speech,’ but the day your dream is no longer a dream, and it’s a reality is awesome. This moment hasn’t even really hit me yet.”
